Session Four week One:

Kia ora koutou Mt and Ts

At the end of the second session, we asked you to submit work to your blog. This was a mixed success after our school internet went down...

What it should have looked like was this:

1) After working through the group/peer critique with positive, thoughtful and helpful advice to another group, you needed to construct an individual blog post documenting your progress so far.

2) Your blog post should include writing up the advice your group was given and what you think your next steps are from them.

You must PUBLISH your post and give it a label "art - hurumanu"

Don't forget a title for the post.

Kia ora Koutou and welcome to making stopmotion art in Hurumanu

Session One week one:

Today we focussed on making a start in our understanding. activating your prior knowledge is what we often call AKO - LEARN.

I was a little surprised that more of you knew what Stopmotion is. I recorded your answers and have them here:

I particularly liked the answer 'like a flip book'.  This is like a photographic flip book. Little changes are pieced together a bit at a time with photographs.
I wonder how many of you have written your own chapter books and thought about illustrations to help your reader? I wonder how many of you have played around with iMovie and apps that are similar? Do any of you enjoy taking photographs for fun? Making models, or puppets?
Here is the official Quentin Blake website if you wanted to do a bit more investigating on your

Every time you read a Roald Dahl book, you are experiencing some of his Art work.

Here are the responses we collected to asking you for describing words (adverbs and adjectives) for the illustrations we showed you:

The final piece of work you completed with me was the 50 second illustrations of four different scenes. I will upload some photos of your works later this week.
